The Antminer L3++ is an ASIC miner produced by Bitmain, a giant in the crypto miner production industry. It is an addition to Bitmain’s Antminer Application Specific Integrated Circuit brand, which has proved itself a force reckoned within the blockchain industry. About Antminer L3++

Bitmain released antminer machine L3 series at the end of 2016, equipped with its own Litecoin chip BM1485. BM1485 was the first Litecoin ASIC and a useful chip for litecoin miners. Each Litecoin mining machine is equipped with 288 of these chips to provide higher hash rates and efficiency. The Antminer L3 series includes three models: Antminer L3 (250Mh/s and power consumption 400W), Antminer L3+ (500Mh/s and 800W), Antminer L3++ (580Mh/s and 942W). Litecoin miners are also known as Scryptminers. In addition to litecoin mining, the machine also works with any cryptocurrency based on Scrypt.

Appearance

Antminer mining machine L3++ adopts front and rear double fan design, compact alloy housing. Weighing in at 4.4kg and measuring 188 x 130 x 352mm, it is compact and easy to stack. The front side has IP button, cable socket, reset button, QC label, etc.

Specifications

The Antminer L3++ has four hash boards with two PCI-E 6PIN interfaces and four cables connected to the controller. The data cables have a buckle design that ensures tight contact for stable data transfer. It comes with Bitmain’s 10nm Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) chip, which increases efficiency and productivity.

The Antminer L3++ comes with an APW3-12-1600-B2 power supply unit, which has a conversion rate of 93%. The indoor temperature is about 26℃ and about 20℃ at night.

Power Consumption

The Antminer L3++ has a low power consumption rate. It is evident that Bitmain also has people looking to mine at home in mind. As seen in the power consumption of the Antminer L3, L3+, L3++, which consume the power of 800W,850W, and 942W, respectively. For users with free electricity, low power consumption is an added advantage as it reduces electricity costs and brings up profitability. Calculating the electricity cost at 0.1 per KWh, users can still see a reasonable profit at the end of the day.

Fan and Air Circulation

The Antminer L3++ has a 12cm fan of 12V 2.3A at the front side for air intake. The miner also has another 12cm fan at the end for taking out the air and heat. These two fans do an excellent job maintaining a stable mining condition by cooling the device and preventing overheating. During normal mining operations, the fan speed is at 4300 rotations per minute, which is quite useful.

Algorithm

Every miner’s algorithm is essential as it determines the top coin and scale of profitability for the device. For the Antminer L3++, it works with the Scrypt algorithm. Scrypt is an encryption method that requires lots of time for selection and uses significant memory volumes. It is used in many altcoins as Proof of Work (PoW). Released in 2011, it was first made for Tenebrix and served as the basis for Litecoin and Dogecoin and the Scrypt algorithm.

The Scrypt algorithm is for crypto-coin mining, which makes it more complicated for specialized ASIC miners. Coins mined from Scrypt are different from Bitcoin as Bitcoin uses the SHA-256 algorithm. Scrypt’s top coin is Litecoin, but it features about 348 coins on its algorithm.

Noise Level

Most miners’ noise level is about 60db to 70db, but the Antminer L3++ has a noise level of 76db. This noise level is because of the fans working to reduce or prevent overheating. During the day, the fan speed is about 4300rpm, and during the night, the fan speed drops to around 3900rpm. The standard fan setting is adjusted automatically based on the ambient temperature. The Antminer L3++ is suitable for mining at home as the noise level is optimized but is best kept at mining farms.
